Our school provides a range of opportunities for students to take part in healthy, outdoor activities.
Our Senior students have a chance to attend a 3-day, 2-night camp away from the school. At camp they participate in outdoor education activities.
Recent camps have been held at Wilsons Promontory, Sovereign Hill and the Doxa Camp in Melbourne.
Throughout each semester the children of each class participate in a number of excursions, both local and in Melbourne. The excursions are planned around the specific unit being studied in class such as going to Science Works to support our integrated unit on ‘Space’.
The whole school participates in a local athletics carnival, which sees children from Foundation to Grade 6 participating in all field events. Selected students then go on to represent our school at the Traralgon and District Athletics Carnival. Students are selected in age groups (10s, 11s, and 12s for boys and girls) in field events (discus, shot put, high jump and long jump) and track events (100m, 200m, 400m and 800m).
We have a whole school swimming program that takes place in term 4 of each year. Students are placed in ability groups and work on skills such as familiarization around water to stroke technique.
