Preparing your child for the start of primary school will help them feel more confident about the big changes that are about to happen and what to expect at their new school.
Starting school is a big change for children. To ensure a smooth transition into the next stage of your child’s education our Kinder to Foundation Transition Program consists of a series of individual sessions. These include some time spent in the Foundation room and with the Foundation teacher to help children to feel comfortable within their new surrounds as well as support for parents. While transition sessions take place, parent sessions are run to provide information about the school, the curriculum and how to prepare children for starting school.

From the year before until the day they start school, there are a range of ways you can prepare your child for their new environment. The following documents provide information for parents to assist in making the transition from home to school a positive one.

Our Senior school students, with the help of the local Lions Club, plan the end of year ceremony for our graduating Grade 6 students. Families are invited to a dinner and ceremony to celebrate their primary education and moving into a secondary setting. In the past the students have elected to have a disco or cricket match and BBQ meal after the awards ceremony.
